What is the Heartland Challenge Off Road Race?
The Heartland Challenge has been considered one of the toughest and grueling ATV/UTV competitions in the U.S. for over a decade. The overall duration and physical test of the Challenge continues to draw fans and racing enthusiasts year after year.

The Kyner’s (owners of the IATVHSS and AXCC series) created the Heartland Challenge as a way to get back to the core of why we all race in the first place – to have FUN. No points are awarded, only bragging rights and the coveted Corn Cob Trophy!

What kind of race is it?
The ATV race accommodates all ages and skill levels, from Pro Riders to Youth racers just starting out. The race is TEN straight hours (for the adult ATV classes) of open grass fields, technical woods sections, an optional GBC challenge section, all with conditions that can change every lap. For those racers who enjoy bar to bar racing or spectating the track features a lite motocross section as well.

The ATV classes are made up of teams of either two or three riders and allow each rider to use his or her own ATV. This is an excellent opportunity to ride with family, friends, or even your greatest rival. But pick your teams wisely as the competition will be fierce. If you think you got what it takes to win it on your own, then we dare you to sign up for the IRON MAN class! And don’t forget your lights as a third of the race and finish is at night!

The SXS teams are also put to the challenge with a four-hour race that starts as the sun sets on Friday night. Keep in mind the SXS and a portion of the ATV race will be taking place during the evening hours. It definitely takes some unique skills to handle and conquer a nighttime track. Both races will be put riders and their machines to the test.

Youth riders will have a chance to show off their skills during the youth race early Saturday morning. Be sure to bring out the whole family to cheer them on!

Do you have to race to attend?
No, everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. The atmosphere is intended for families and friends to spend time and enjoy the race together. Spectators are welcome to watch riders take on the GBC obstacle challenge which features huge boulders, trees, and hills. The motocross section is also a spectator favorite.

Will GBC Tires be at the event?
Yes, GBC will have a booth set up by the registration area. We are proud to be the title sponsor of the 2021 Heartland Challenge.

For teams riding on GBC tires, we’ll be offering GBC Bucks. Be sure to stop by our booth to fill out your forms or to just say hello.

We look forward to seeing you there!
